Edible Flowers

I saw an article in Vegetarian Times today entitled "Flowers for Foodies."  I knew pansies, marigolds, and lavendar were edible, but check out all the wild flowers that can be used in many different recipes.

Peter Rabbit may want to visit Mr. McGregor's flowers after he wanders through the vegetable garden. (So far, my visiting wild backyard bunny hasn't discovered my pansies.)

  1. Interesting! I don't think I can work up the nerve to eat flowers, though. They just don't smell edible.

  2. True, but then broccoli is not very pleasant either! :) You might like a book called Garden Spells. The main character is a caterer who cooks with lavender, pansies, etc. and makes everything sounds delicious. It hooked my interest. http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/garden-spells-sarah-addison-allen/1100303468?ean=9780553384833
